Osteopathy

Osteopathy is an established system of diagnosis and manual treatment. It is a holistic and scientific treatment approach that incorporates lifestyle, exercise, diet and postural patterns.

Osteopaths use their hands to palpate and diagnose the cause of the underlying pain. They use a variety of techniques such as stretching, deep soft tissue massage, mobilisation of joints to improve the range of movement of a joint and the muscle/connective tissue quality.

Osteopathy

Cranial Osteopathy is a refined and subtle type of Osteopathic treatment that uses very gentle manipulative pressure to encourage the release of stresses throughout the body, including the head. It is extremely effective for a wide variety of conditions in people of all ages, from birth to old age.

Osteopathy can be used to treat:

  • sports injuries
  • headaches and migraine
  • stress
  • arthritis and rheumatism
  • repetitive strain injuries
  • head, neck and shoulder pain
  • back pain
  • whiplash injuries
  • pain in joints and limbs

Cranial Osteopathy can be used to treat all of the above as well as problems in infancy and childhood such as:

  • infantile colic and other difficulties with newborns
  • glue ear and other recurrent illnesses
  • poor sleep patterns
  • learning difficulties
  • recurrent severe temper problems and ADHD

It can also be helpful in treating adult problems such as:

  • emotional shock and distress
  • chronic fatigue and M.E.
  • recurrent infections (for example pneumonia, cystitis, tonsilitis)
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • complex or long standing difficulties resulting from illness or injury
