Clinical Hypnotherapy![]() Clinical Hypnotherapy is a fast, effective method used for the permanent eradication of unwanted habits and behaviours. Hypnotherapy has, for many years, been a respected and highly successful way of helping people take control of their lives and thoughts. In 2007 the Royal Society of Medicine re-designated Hypnotherapy as a supplementary therapy, rather than complementary or alternative. This puts Hypnotherapy in the same category as Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. Hypnosis is a state of trance that we enter every day quite naturally. We all know that feeling of having been 'miles away', perhaps driving or walking somewhere and suddenly wondering 'How did I get here?!' In a therapeutic setting, hypnosis provides a very powerful tool to access subconscious patterns of thought and behaviour and resolve issues that lie beyond the capabilities of conscious resolve. The profound state of relaxation provides us with the ability to develop new insights and understandings, particularly when guided by a skilled therapist. Hypnotherapy is a highly effective way of building self-confidence and overcoming such difficulties as depression and anxiety, phobias and compulsive behaviour, relationship difficulties, moving on from past traumatic experiences, and overcoming the spectrum of stress-related disorders from blushing, through IBS and migraines, to panic attacks.
