Hypnotherapy is a technique which uses the power of suggestion and an altered state of consciousness to produce changes in behaviour.

Hypnotherapy induces a feeling of deep relaxation and mental calmness so that the person can then look at problems in a more detached way. This is called dissociation – the ability to stand outside of yourself and your problems in order to deal with them.
Hypnotherapy is diagnostic in the sense that it enables the person to be more self aware in the way that their mind and body work. It looks at the relationship between the conscious and subconscious mind.
