Claire Hoare M.Inst.AT, MSPNTI am a member of the British Institute of Allergy and Environmental Therapists. I studied at Prestberries Farm Natural Therapy Centre in Gloucestershire, which is a designated teaching centre. I qualified, with distinction, in 1995, since when I have not stopped learning! I took a further course at the College of Natural Nutrition in Bristol. I regularly attend courses and lectures to build on my knowledge and to keep my mind open to the many different approaches to health through nutrition. My approach to work is a very natural one, looking at lifestyle, diet, health issues, exercise etc. The pressures of modern living can lead to things getting out of balance and ill health often follows. This I know all too well, as personal ill health in the 1980's/90's is what lead me to a complete career change and retraining, so I know this approach can work! Minor changes in diet and lifestyle can lead to major changes in health. Life can be worth living - enjoy it! I am married with 2 grown up children and one grandchild (unfortunately living in Australia - but lovely to visit!). I live in a small village in Gloucestershire with easy access to the Royal Forest of Dean. I like to read, walk, ski, travel etc. I have studied yoga for many years and have just started Pilates, which I hope to be able to teach. I have been a fitness instructor in the past. Before retraining for my present career, I was a medical secretary for many years, after which I started my own business in health and fitness. Several years later I was part owner/manager of a large ladies only health and fitness club in the Cotswold's which, unfortunately, took its toll on my own health - the rest is history! I find my work very rewarding and love to share my knowledge with people - I know what a difference it can make. The nutritional approach can easily combine with other therapies or is a complete therapy in its own right. |
