Creative Counselling and Psychotherapy

I work with children and adults on a 1:1 basis and in groups, offering a safe, holding space and confidential time to explore whatever my clients wish to bring.  This may be difficult and painful issues or finding a way to create new opportunities when there is a sense of feeling stuck.

Alongside talking therapy, if clients choose to do so, I also work with imagination to call on a different part of the self.  This can help to enable expression of deeper meaning when words are not enough.  Through using the arts such as drawing, movement, voice and drama, we can discover and become inspired by experiencing our creative self.

I have come to trust that by working on the possibility of trusting and listening to our deep down self, we can access an inner intelligence; our own personal wise messenger. Some call this our soul or authentic self; who we truly are rather than who other people want us to be or who we think we should be.

Psychological and emotional growth and development can come to us during our most difficult times. The gift is to trust that there is more than we see – that our answers lie inside us and that we already have the key. With the right support, we can unlock the door and find the treasure within and turn towards what makes us feel alive and vital.

I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), The Sesame Institute (Drama and Movement in therapy), British Association of Social Workers (BASW), I am registered with the Care Council for Wales and am committed to and abide by the standards of good practice and codes of ethics of these affiliated professional bodies.
